MSGM Spring 2014

22 Sep

And here came the fashion weeks, full time inspiration for all fashionistas (or less than that) around the world. I have seen so many beutiful pieces, street style outfits and cuts that I can hardly point towards one. Last season I have been telling you how much I love J. Crew. Now I have decided to share with you my latest Italian discovery, Massimo Giorgetti, creating for MSGM.

Basic cuts, amazing prints, some basic and some sophisticated items..that is all I can say about it.

Spring basics

31 Mar
One single sunbeam was enough to make me rethink my spring looks. When it comes to basign, I’m the man (or maybe the lady). I love basis pieces for their timelessness and versatility. I’ve probably told you before that I am not a fashionista, therefore I would not mind much wearing a classy color or one that suits me simply because it it not trendy. Being stylish is more than being  trendy, let’s face it!
A beige trench coat is a must in everyone’s closet, as much as a classy pair of pumps and one of loafers (if you insist to be trendy, pick them in burgundy).
Pick a red blazer and a colourful silk scarf to spice up your black&white business attaire. I prefer the black&white polka dots blouse to the stripped one for the girlish touch it could bring to an outfit. As for the pencil leather skirt, this is my new darling.
I hope this will prove useful for your spring looks! I am sure I have not included all the key, basis items, threfore I welcome and ideas of yours.
Have a great Sunday and a productive week!

Trends: Stripes Mania

19 Mar

Oh, I knew it was all about stripes this year, but they are already killing my eyes: in stores, on the streets…everywhere. Plus, I whould say there is too much black and white for this summer. Well, never too much white, but a mix.

Well, there is Mango propsing something else than black&white:

My style: Waiting for spring

16 Mar

Do you rember the Jenna Lyons inspired outfit post? Here is my own version of it I have been wearing a few days ago: basic jeans, shirt and pumps, beige coat, clutch and a statement necklace. Alltogether, a chic and versatile outfit.

I am anxiously waiting for spring and hopefully  the coat would not be of much use in a week. However, it could easily be replaced by a classy beige trench coat.

What do you think? Do you have any ideas for pimping this outfit?

Marc Jacobs for Diet Coke

13 Mar

Following  Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs has designed the most recent limited edition of Diet Coke bottles and cans.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the most famous diet drink, Jacobs has created 3 decade-inspired packaging portraying the empowered woman of the ’80s, the extravagant of the ’90s and the playful one of the ’00s.

Jacobs is about to turn 50, but with his look, had no inhibitions to shoot topless for Diet Coke campaign. He loves attention and other stuff you can read about in his interview for The Telegraph.

What do you think? Did you get your own collectibles? I must admit this is one of the small things that would give me a possitive impulse for the day. I am not a Coke lover but I like Coke Diet much better. However, I am afraid I would not be able to purchase them in Romania. We do not even have the brand as you know it, but as Coke 0 (zero). Maybe I should look for someone going to the UK these days.

Rihanna collection for River Island

5 Mar

It was high time for Rihanna to give her fans something to wear for this summer and she has launched today her new collection for River Island. That’s something she would wear, as the singer declared for the British press. However, there is nothing outrageous in this collection as some might have expacted. Most of the items are monochrome, in black, grey  or neon yellow, in stripes, in jersey, denim or satin and are on sale online with prices ranging from 20 GBP to 140 GBP.

Rihanna is far from being one of my fashion icon, though I appreciate some of her appearances. It is the same with this collection. I could probably wear few of the items, but I am not gonna tell you there is something I would really, really want in my closet.

How do you find it? Which is your favourite item?

Weekend Fashion Fairs

2 Mar

Spring, spring is here! Oh, I am so happy to see a sunbeam, it gives me so much energy that I am about to jog (I do not jog, I rarely go to the gym). Plus, I am about to change the clothes I have been wearing for the last couple of months. I do not like boots, nor I like coats. I would go for flats and blazers at any time of the year.

Of course, this is also a good opportunity to add something to our wardrobes and some people have aready thought we are thinking about it and they are organizing many fashion and vintage fairs this month. I have been to  one last  weekend and there are many more this weekend.
